WHO WE ARE
The NMA Difference
National Music Academy teachers are all trained in the philosophy of founder Gianni Michelini to provide holistic music education with love and passion.

From 25 years of teaching, performing, writing and recording music, Gianni has worked with everyone from the very beginner students here at NMA, through to the best of the best at Studios 301 and Abbey Road Institute in Melbourne, Dubai and London. Over time we have used this international vision to refine the best method of teaching music to create musicians, not just players.

Tailored lessons inspired by the student but crafted by the teacher
Rather than teach a set syllabus or curriculum, our teachers use the best teaching resources available from a variety of different sources, and create individual tailored lesson plans for each student.
This way parents and students have the advantage of proven, reliable and industry respected resources, with the flexibility of bespoke lesson plans and progressions. Your teacher will find out your goals and work out what theory, technique, repertoire and performance opportunities are appropriate for your level to help you work towards those goals.
These are then laid out in an easy-to-follow term plan that gives parents and students a clear outline of the plan for the term.
Resources to support your lessons
We also provide weekly feedback in the form of lesson notes, supplementary content (videos, audio recordings, sheet music and worksheets), homework and encouragement. This can either be emailed to you, or uploaded via our secure lesson portfolio app. This reinforces lesson content so that it is easy for students to practice at home, and easy for parents to keep up to date with what their children are learning.
